Following Traditions

Today on our moodle session we had to discuss about Shastri's essay. I am so glad that I am an American citizen with the freedom to control my daily life. I know that it sounds as if I have no heart but I do not feel for Shastri. I would not want to lose my culture just because I live in another country. She wants the choice to find that special person for herself. Why is it hard to get to know the one that is given to you already? The divorce rate in United States is higher than the employment rate. These people who get divorced have known each other for years and then they decide not to make it work. There are lies that bind their love and at least with an arrange marriage you would know the family history and your spouse-to-be's background. I guess everyone has their own opinion to the situation. that is what makes America so great. The freedom of speech.

Divorce rate IS high. Can you imagine that more than 50% of marriage ends up in divorce? It scares me to even consider marriage. Arrange marriage is far too difficult. From the story of my family, I learn that there is no chemistry. You will fight about interests. It's really harder that way. I am glad that I am to fall in love. They say that falling in love is the greatest pleasure, you'll experience. I feel bad for those who have to be forced to love their husband/wife. This applies to the males as well, some of them are just being forced to fix family's issues.

Have a happy weekend :) I enjoyed reading your blog.
