Pro-tradition
I like tradition, well sometimes that is. An example I want to use is pre-marital sex. I've been
told I can't have sex until marriage. I learned that this is a protection from getting ourselves
emotional scars, shame (for some individuals not all), and diseases. Tradition also teaches
you the value of something. It's also good to look at the reason behind your parents
actions and ask yourself, "Why are they doing this?"
Con-Tradition
Not all traditions are for your benefit. In Shasti's case I'm against arranged marriage.
It may benefit the parents by assuring them of financial stability. The whole idea of
marriage is for two people to commit and work along side each other. They are to
grow and support each together, emotionally, physically, financially and spiritually.
How can an arranged marriage do so, without the couples commitment and passion in it?
