HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Dear EN100 Students,

Happy Holidays! It was a pleasure having all of you as students this semester. I'm happy that you've learned much, and that you'll be able to apply what you've learned, not only in EN110, but in all your other courses as well. I wish you a joyous holiday season filled with much love, joy, and happiness. Good luck in all your endeavors!

All the best,
Dr. Rivera

Farewell

FAREWELL!
I had so much fun and learning in class. I will sure miss everything! I will carry everything I learned in my mind. But this is not over. We'll see each other tomorrow, December 4, 2008, to take a picture.

Belated Happy Birthday, Dr. Rivera!

Goodbye EN100..=(

Well everyone the semester has finally come to an end and I'm sad about it. It has been a great semester, getting to know all of you. To tell you the truth, ever since day one I felt like I belonged, and it was such a relief. All of us have a bond, and I hope we don't forget each other. To recap on Tuesday, Michael that was a sweet poem you made for Dr. Rivera, I'm gonna say it again, aww. Getting to hear from all your final exam projects was bittersweet because, it was heart warming yet it was the end of our journey in this class. What I want to say to all of you and Dr. Rivera as well, is that EN100 was my favorite class this semester, and because we all shared together, worked together, blogged about how we felt, we have a unique bond. I hope to never forget all of you, our class has a special place in my heart. Thanks for everything, especially any help along the way, it means so much to me. With all that was said, with all that was experienced, it was truly a blast. If you guy's want to stay in contact with me, just look on my blog profile for my email, and add me on myspace, but email me first. I want to stay in contact with you all as well, so email me, or what ever. Especially you Dr. Rivera, I hope you had a very good birthday, and thank you for being such a great teacher! I will miss you all!

Goodbye Fall Semester 2008!

Wow! Can you believe how fast this semester went? It went by pretty fast that its hard for me to believe. Anyways, today was the last day for EN-100 and boy was it an interesting one. Today we presented a piece of our final projects, did a survey based on Dr. Rivera's performance this semester and wished her a Happy Birthday. What made today even more interesting was the way it ended, Michael wrote a very sweet poem to Dr. Rivera for her birthday that he had to present twice due to someone walking in late. So looking back, I am really going to miss this class. Hope to see all of you around and have a safe journey through life.

Last day. Last words.

As you all know this was our last day in class. This will be my last blog as well. But hopefully it won't be the last you'll see or hear from me again. Who knows we'll have each other for another course next semester. I wish you all the best of luck in passing all your classes. And in all that you do in life :) The semester went by so quickly that it's hard to say good bye already when I was looking forward in getting to know my classmates more. But if you'd like you can search me on my myspace and add me as a friend. I would love to be your friend too as well!

Once again farewell guys and see you all soon? Take care, Be safe & God Bless!

Happy Birthday again Dr.Rivera and hope you got to eat some cake!

12/02/08 Fare-Well Blog

Hi everyone! Well, today was the last day of EN100. I hoped that you've learned something from this semester, I know I tried. This is my fare-well blog to everyone out there. I've really enjoyed this semester with all of you and I hope to see you around on campus. I just want to send a big shout out to Dr. Rivera and wish her a Happy Birthday! Later peeps! See you guys around..

Goodbye

Hello everyone! Today was the last day of our English 100 class. It is horrible that I was late. I was not able to hear anyone of your poems, except for the birthday poem. That was very sweet, by the way. ;) I was late because I got abducted by Aliens! Just kidding. It is a very long and boring excuse.

I am going to miss all of you. It was a great pleasure being in the same class with all of you. Nicole, I am going having you as a seat mate! I will remember all the times that you made me laugh. For the rest, I wish you the best in everything. You better wave back next semester. :D

Dr. Rivera, thank you for everything. I am still learning about habits that I need to have for College. Thank you for teaching me some great lessons. I am very grateful for everything. Have a good birthday. Enjoy the hershey kiss!

Add me on myspace! www.myspace.com/laydeexchanted! Copy and paste onto the link box. Hope to see you there!

Farewell English 100

Today is the very last day I'll ever see everyone, who became my classmate for this semester, in English 100, all at once. I am sad yet happy. Sadness is overwhelmed by all the many discussions we partook with each other. Bickering and listening to each other's opinions towards one topic to the next. I'll miss it all, especially Francis' and Michael's obnoxious yet interesting remarks. Dr. Rivera has given us information to continue our pursuit in this institute of higher learning. As well as, being lenient and understanding towards our needs. I am glad I started off my freshman year to be a student of hers. To have the experiences we had.
Anyhow, so today was very fun. I like hearing and seeing everyone put their emotions to their piece. Precisely, their final exam. I enjoyed how they implemented so much thought and deserve such a good grade for doing so. I suppose this is my last blog but it won't stop me from writing... I believe I'll continue to appreciate the art of writing anything and everything that comes to mine. Obviously paying attention to the grammar and spelling mistakes
I am glad, I've met all of you. Please keep in touch; jm.11@hotmail.com is my add for msn. Feel free add me and we'll discuss the upcoming events of our next step by going to another class level and possibly to graduating! Thank you, and farewell.

Last Day for Class

Wow it is our last day of class. Man, really loved our class. I can't believe we are ending now. I really loved meeting and getting to know everyone. It was a pleasure to make new friends. I hope we will all still keep in touch and for everyone else just type my name rhea francisco on myspace search and you should find me right away!

By you guys see you around!
Love Rhea!!!

Last Day of Class

Hey everyone, well just want to say it was awesome getting to know each and everyone of you and well none of us knew this was gonna be the last day for us, but hope everyone has a great holiday season and see you around the school campus. Hope to have some of you for classes next semester. Goodbye

The Special Project

I chose the special project because I feel it was easier to do than taking a test. I had a lot of poems in a book at home to use for the project, but my dad thought it was trash. He ended up throwing it away. I had to make the five poems for the project. The poems were just thoughts I was thinking about at the time.I feel that this project helped get some feelings out. It was like an outlet for me. My poems were about my life and what's in my life. The other reason I chose the special project is because I like making poems. I used to always make poems when I felt down. Thank you Dr. Rivera for giving us a choice.

Farewell. I'll see you .Happy Birthday Doctor Rivera

First of all, today is Doctor Rivera birthday. So please wish the Doctor a blissful day of birthday wishes. Well, I didn't know today would be our last day for this class. Even if this class session is over, I had a good time with everyone here. We really establish the friend relationship in this class and that is very important as we go on. So, whenever you see me say Hi. I'm sure I will see some of you in another class. Until we meet again. I'll see you all around. So good luck to everyone and I wish you all a good life. Because we will not be attending class again, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW to come.. Be safe and take good care.

Fare well!

I just wanted to say fare well to each and every one of you and may great futures lay ahead of you. Fare well to all and to all a good night.

See You Later Not Goodbye

I feel that it has been a good semester. I learned so many things in the class. I know that I will use the knowledge I learned in the future classes I will take. Thank you Dr. Rivera for being kind and understanding through the semester. The way you taught was very appealing because I feel I learned the material easier. It's not good-bye, it's see you later. I can't believe how fast it came to an end.

Holiday Season is here

Well christmas is just twenty-three days from now and I can't wait because it's the most exciting time of the year. Also we have like about a week left of school and I feel like I don't want to take a break anymore you know because it's been fun meeting new people and making new friends and the college life has been a fun experience for me even though most of the time it's so stressful. Anyways hope to see everyone in class and yeah have a great day.

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was great, hope everyone had the same time. Now it is time to worry about the final project and our last essay. Wow, it seems like we are just getting to the end of class in a blink. I have really enjoyed everything and happy for the experiences I have been able to be involved of.

Final

Before I start I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving. I know I did. Anyways, if you were in class this past Tuesday you probably already know that I am going to be doing the five inspirational poems for the final project. Well I finished one of the five poems on Thursday and I am very proud of it; right now I am just trying to think of other topics to write about. So yeah, I think I am coming along pretty well with the project; just have to wait and see Tuesday. Well I guess I'll see you then!

Quotes and Finals.

Last class a few people discussed quotes and other people presented parts of their presentation. It was fun but it felt like we're nearer to the end of this english class. I also really felt sad taking that survey. I wish english could continue with Dr. Rivera. She has made the class fun. I'm thankful for her and everyone for that matter. I'm glad to be surrounded with good classmates that contribute their knowledge to the class. It was overwhelming hearing other people stories, really. I like the eclectic way this class has given me knowledge. Thank you all, and I do hope to see you all next class. It's going to be sad but worth the sweat these past week's we've known eachother.

Last Class!

Last class we had to present a part of our project if we decided to do any other project besides the final exam. I read one of my poems. I was a little afraid. Many poems are more personal then regular reports or essays. My poem I read was about having family and friends by your side in any situation. After everyone had a turn and when we finished early we left.

Thanksgiving Meal.

Hello everyone! How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I know mine was a full one due to all the turkey and honey ham I ate. But truly its a day to be grateful about the people special in our lives as well as the possessions we own. We should appreciate the simple joys life offers us each day and not many of us have the time to do so. So I would like to take the opportunity to thank those who have commented my blogs throughout this semester. Even if you were obligated to, you've made the effort in sharing your thoughts. Thanks and Have a great weekend!

Happy Holidays!

Class standing

Tuesday's class was different. This time we didn't have a lecture, but a chance to hear from others about their final exam project. I have to say they will be interesting. I got to read Jacy's literary work, which I say is very unique, reminds me of E.E Cumming's poems. Since majority of our class is doing the five poems to be submitted online it is wonderful because it showcases how far we've come since the beginning of the semester, and their creative expression, which thanks to this blog and many others allows us to grow and learn. I hope for the best to the boys that took the final exam, that took courage. See all of you on Tuesday, a day we can truly celebrate a teacher who brought us together.

~Christina

Giving Thanks

Hi everyone! I know I haven't blogged in a while, and I apologize for that. Well, its the day after Thanksgiving, and I have been thinking a lot about what I am thankful for. Besides being able to get a college education, and grateful for my family and friends, I am also thankful for being in this class. Though we are small, we get along pretty well and ever since day one, I felt like I belonged here. I am so glad I got to meet all of you, and I hope we don't forget each other, but I will save my goodbye's for our last blog. Above all, being thankful has opened my eyes to be grateful for what I already have, and keeping in mind the good things in life.

~Christina

Tiring Day

Happy Thanksgiving!
For Thanksgiving, I went hiking with my friends at Sigua Fall. It was a long hike! As we reached the fall, I felt relaxed. But on our way back, the rain poured real hard. But then again, it was all worth it.
Then my family we went to my uncle's house for pot-luck. I just got home feeling sore from hiking.

See you in class!

The end of the year scare.

We only have a few more weeks intill the end of the semester. The final papers and test are starting to show their ugly faces. I myself am quite scared this time of the school year. I really hope to pass all my classes.

Class.

Today I presented my quote and hoped the message came out across just fine. I was hesitate that it wouldn't be as inspiring but a quote is a quote and I'm glad I was finally able to present it. We also went over a survey we had to take and write about our thoughts on moodle, blogging, and using the online technology for school. As well as presenting our final and explain what we were going to do. I'm still working on it and is motivated even more to write and express my many thoughts on poems itself.

Overall the students who did present something that they brought did a good job! The short stories sound interesting and I would like a hard copy please? Good Luck everyone as you finish your Final Reflection and Exam... See you all next week tuesday.

The Time has come.

The time for final exam is here. I hope everyone will do well in their case. I am kind of nervous, yet I feel that I won't do a good job in my exam. I have chosen the 5 Inspiration Poems. If we do present this, I hope it's alright, because I did try my hardest to meet the directions. Oh well, I hope you all did well.

Good Luck!

Few more posts until the end.

Our last Moodle

Hi everyone, last Thursday was our last moodle session we will be having. It makes me feel like class will be ending soon. I know that it is and I want to wish everyone Good Luck on your exams and projects. This Thursday is Thanksgiving. So don't forget to give thanks. See you all on Tuesday.

Collie Budz

Well, I went to Collie Budz concert that happened on Saturday and I really thought it was going to be packed like Rebelution was but it looked depressing to be there for me. There wasn't much people there but I guess it was because of poor adveristing. The concert started late and it started to rain here and there. Lucky I did not pay to be there and I didn't wait in line because I would have wanted my money back and would have been disappointed. I enjoyed it alittle but I couldn't understand what he was singing about until it came to the chorus parts. After the concert I just wanted to go home which I did and all I did when I got home was sleep.

Dear EN100 Students,

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the holiday with your family, and be sure to give them thanks for supporting you in your academic endeavors. Good luck with completing your final course requirements!

Best regards,
Dr. Rivera

The World-Wide Web

Hello fellow Moodlers and classmates, our last moodle had taken part last Thursday. I am two days, late and I am sorry for that. So, our very last moodle session was very precise and down to the point, which was to discuss the handbook. I believe the handbook had many self-explanatory exercises and furthered my understanding of the English language in means of writing. I believe I have learned a great amount through the handbook and I should have been more self-absorbent about the details. Anyhow, the class is also ending and I feel the need to thank Dr. Rivera for being so understanding about circumstances that bypass a college student. Also, the fact that she is lenient towards everyone based on a group discussion. I really am excited for the Final Exam, and the overall reflection. I do hope everyone enjoyed Moodle as much as I did.

Our Last Moodle Session

On moodle session Thursday, we discussed the handbook. I found that run-ons, fragments, and incomplete was most effective for me. The writer must not bore or confuse the reader. A sentence that goes on and on tends to make the reader lose interest.

I know that our final project is due on Tuesday so I hope that it will get a good grade. I get so discourage well actually nervous about my grade. I really need to pass this course with at least a letter grade B. Well good luck to everyone and I will see you all on Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!

Relieved

Yesterday was our last Moodle Session Day. I would have never known that if I had not read the heading above the link to the discussion. I am kind of relieved that was the end of it because its one less thing to remember to do for my week events. Although, I really enjoyed the topic of discussion, reflection on the handbook. I honestly loved the handbook, it was very self explanatory and extremely helpful when reviewing for the test. The only thing I wish I had done throughout the entire course was actually sit down and take in the whole book to fully understand the passages and examples. I would of been better off if I had continued from the start of the course.

Last Moodle!

Yesterday's moodle was about what we find useful in the handbook. For me everything is useful, but writing process is what I usually refer to when writing.
Semester is almost over as well! It feels like it was only yesterday when class started.

Language Arts Conference

There were four of us that assisted at the Language Arts Conference last Friday and Saturday. It was really a big turn out. Although, I had never been to one before. But, there were just alot of educators there and I did come across seeing my elementary and high school teachers. On Friday it was Cheysser, Rolani, and I. We had assisted on giving out the LAC packets, and pencils. Cheysser and I sold a few posters. On Saturday It was Jovie, Cheysser and I. We basically did the samething on this day. On both days they had great food.

My oh my!

Wow we are already on our last blog can everyone believe it. It seemed like just yesterday when we all picked the quote to write about. Man you guys have been a great bunch of classmates and I have enjoyed every bit of our laughs and lectures. It took a while to speak to some people and I still haven't spoken to some people but hopefully we can be classmates in another class and we will be able to get to know each other. Besides this being our last moodle last class we had to decide weather we were doing the final or a project I decided on a project as for all of you guys I hope you picked something you know you will enjoy and be able to complete, reminder it is do this Tuesday.

Well Have a Great Weekend and see you guys on Tuesday,

Final Exam week

Well the final exam week is coming up and i'm really nervous and stressed out right now because i'm trying to study all the chapters that we've had are tests on so that way I can get a better grade on the final exam because I wanna pass the exam and the class. So hope that everyone is doing better than me and have a great weekend.
I had missed class on Tuesday due to my husband hurt his back while working. I did not want to miss school but my husband has to come first before my needs. Well he is fully medicated at this time so I am trying to finish our moodle session. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will see everyone on Tuesday.

I missed the test!

For the first time I missed a test! I wanted to wait for Dr. Rivera before I leave the campus, but i can't hold the pain. But I communicated with her yesterday as soon as i could. I'll be taking the test tomorrow. I am feeling much better now! See you next class.

Last Class

Well last class we had a test. There was a little confusion on the date so luck we figured it out. The test was ok I guess. Not the best, so I hope I at least pass. Then everyone told Dr. Rivera if they were doing the final exam or the other choices. I have decided that I will be doing the five poem ten lines each and submitting it to the poets club. I hope the poems I write will be inspirational and worth giving a good grade. I am thinking long and hard about what to write about for each poem.

Am I being Unfair? I hope it's not a complaint.

Hi Everyone,

So I decided to do the 20 page essay for my final exam. As I sit here to think hard about what I really want to write about, I have a few in mind. So as I start on it, and as I stop again to read and go over on what I have wrote so far, and to carefully check if I have any errors on my writing. To think about, 20 pages is too long? Or am I am being unreasonable?

What do I talk about or write about me or any subject 20 pages long? I will still do it, no doubts about it, but I just feel it's too long. But no problem, it's not giving me a problem. I am just thinking if I should get into specific detail. Well, good luck on yours.

Test #4

All day I was kind of distracted by watching my son. Though I had time in between every chance I could get to read and study from chapters 9 thru 11. It seemed overwhelming at first with all the pages but as we took our test it was no biggie. I thought it was easy. Then again, I would have to wait to see my grade if I passed or not. I hope I did though.

We also discussed our final exam and told Dr.Rivera what exactly we were going to do. I chose the 5 inspirational poems to post in the Guam's Poet Club website. I hope I'm able to come up with creative yet inspiring poems for people to read. It should be easy and I hope I do well on it.

The semesters almost over. Final exams are coming up, Good Luck to everyone!
See you all in our moodle session. I think it will be our last.

Test #4

So we had test #4 today, and I would say I kind of lost my confidence and focus. Although, I did study, but just didn't concentrate hard enough. I just hope we all did well besides myself. Happy Blogging!

10 page playwright script

I have a new challenge beside the final exam coming this tuesday, I have to write a 10 page play. In high school I wrote plays for my speech class before and I think I can do it this time.

The Test

The test was today. I feel that I did okay. The test was hard but I feel that I passed. We had five minutes to study but I felt that wasn't enough time. I wasn't sure what exactly to study. I just read everything and tried to remember what to study. There was inspirational quote presented but there was one in the test. I agree with the quote because all the effort we put everyday can equal success. We had a choice between taking the exam, writing poems, or short stories. I decided to do the poems. We have to do five poems that is at least ten lines.

Test today

Well I just remembered that are test on chapter nine through eleven is today and man i'm freaking out. Well hope everyone had a good weekend and good luck to everyone on the test today and see you in class.

Adios

November 2008

The month of November is full of appointments and other important things to remember. Every week there is an appointment, then there are tests to study for then there are assignments that must be comleted. I, at one point in time, felt as if I was becoming stressed. So I sat alone and thought about what to do first and how to approach my daily tasks so that I do not become stressed and end up having comlications with my pregnancy. This is my first and I do not want anything to go wrong so I must take care of myself. Going back to studying for the test and preparing for my short story in place of the final exam. Good Luck!

I never knew..

I learned a couple of interesting things in this week's moodle session. For instance, I didn't know definitions had types and that definitions had a lot of contents in them and techniques to them. I guess its true what they say about you learn something new everyday.

Anyone know...?

Hello my fellow peers! Hope you all had an awesome Veteran's Day and week this week. I sure did. Well lets get down to business, we didn't meet in class this week due to a holiday on Tuesday and the moodle session Thursday and as a reminder, I think we have a test this coming Tuesday. Specking of the test anyone know what its on? I'll be very grateful if you could tell me. Well see you all Tuesday.

Going to the Extreme

Thursdays moodle was a day of extremes. I almost did not make it, as you can see by my post time. My last post was at 11:59 pm, so I hope when it showed up I was still okay. This week has been a week of realizations, most especially, a week to finally wake up. I realized I was not being serious about my work, and that, even time was my enemy. Procrastination is a horrible, and difficult habit to break, and this week I saw the consequences in one of my classes. Because our moodle this week talked about definitions and being an "extremist", I thought the contrast of these two assignments was very enlightening. As individuals we are not defined by stereotypes, but by our own actions. For me, the only extreme measures I would take would involve germs. I do admit, I am a germaphobic person, or a person who can't stand certain places, or situations. I feel like Monk, but I am not as organized as he is. If he is extreme in that sense, and in a way so am I, I don't think he should be defined as an extremist. Definitions are concrete at times, but for human beings who change over time, being defined as this or that is inaccurate. My point to this contemplation would be, as a human being, we are made up of many characteristics which involves many terms, none all the same. Having many definitions to who we are lets being different from everyone else a lot more interesting than one word in the dictionary.
Have a good weekend everyone!

~Christina

How long it's been

Wow, We've been away from class for a while now, 3 times, and it feels like forever. In a way it's good, because I could catch up on some reading in our book for our final exam. I feel it'll help if you write down and break down for your notes. I just realized that this week, that if you write it down your own way and in your writing, you could absorb it more, because your writing and as you read stick in your head. That's how I see it. Good Luck though!

What to do, What to do.

At this point, I am still deciding what should I do for final exam. I have choosed two options that I would like to do so far, but my main concern is, which one and how? So that is basically what I am going through right now. Good Luck on yours.

Keep on forgeting

Hey guys and gals, hows your week going by so far? well mine been fun and sometimes stressful, but you know there is one thing that I keep on forgeting to do and that is to blog my thought up in here. I keep on getting lost on keeping track as to how many blogs I did in a week, but i'm sure that I didn't blog the whole week before this week, so it's kind of funny. So I hope all of you are well and hope to see you at the conference today.

11/13/08

Hi everyone! How was everyone's holiday? I hope everyone's doing this moodle thing..I'm excited because this semester is almost over and I really want to take the final exam, not the poem thing hehe well, just dropping by to everyone..See you in class..later..

Define yourself

Today's moodle session dealt with definitions, and I liked it. Without words, and their own definition, their wouldn't be meaning to anything, especially with what we say. Words are as unique as humans, with their own special trait, like a DNA that signifies it from other humans. We can put words together to define a whole different people, like us intermarrying a different ethnicity. I believe without definition, their would be no lingo in this world.

Tuesday

I celebrated the Veterans day by addressing my Mother's coworkers parents who served in the war of Vietnam as well as my coworker, Happy Veterans Day! It was an alright day, though I'd prefer to be in school, but I'm glad we have a day for people who served the war, and to commemorate their efforts. Thank you Veterans of Guam, as well as the whole World for helping as provide safety.

Todays Moodle

Our moodle session today was about discussing what definitions consist of and what techniques are used when writing simple and extended definitions. Then we had to discuss about Linda Wongs assisnment on the writing process worksheet. Did Linda do a good job on completing the writing process.

Well I hope everyone has a great and fun weekend, I hope to see everyone on Tuesday.

Moodle

Today I did the moodle session and it was mainly about definitions. It was quite simple. It talked about techniques. It also talked about what definitions consist of. Definitions have etymologies, examples, sentences, and the definition itself. I had a hard time trying to get into the blogging site. It said to retry in thirty seconds. I tried again and it still didn't work. I guess third times the charm. It worked and I finally got in. The other part of the moodle was on Linda Wong's essay. The essay was very organized. I feel that many people could understand how she did her writing.
Two days! I can't believe we missed English class for two days. Veteran's Day [Tuesday] and Moodle Session [Today].
I'll be heading to the Moodle session now

Have A Good Night!

On Tuesday

Veteran's Day was on Tuesday and I had no school but I did have work. I had to sort out some things in the storage at the place I work at. We just have so many things but plenty is better then none. I hope everyone had a safe and memorable holiday. Now we have a moodle session to complete.

Veterans Holiday

How is everyone? This is actually the first week, that we don't meet at all. I feel like I haven't been in class in ages. Luckily I will see all of you next week. Our last class date was on Veterans Day. I've looked at the posters in the library, and it really got me thinking about sacrafices. I mean, to some of us, we sacrafice many things everyday, and to think that an average U.S soldier is sacraficing his or her life everyday, is brave. A family member of mine, was just in Iraq this past year, and luckily he returned home. I feel for all those families who are worried about there loved ones in Iraq and all over the world, its tough. Hopefully, our new president, who set goals to get all U.S soldiers out of Iraq will keep his word. My thanks goes out to all the Veterans, ones in the war, and those that fought for us before we were even born because without there sacrfice, we wouldn't be free.

No class on Tuesday

There was no class on Tuesday because of Veteran's Day. I still studied a little, but the day was meant for the veterans. It was meant to praise and appreciate the things the veterans did. My dad is a veteran. So i basically thanked him. When I was going to the bowling alley, I saw many people in the villages having a fiesta for the veterans. I could tell that the celebration was for veterans because most of the them wore those distinctive hats. My dad doesn't wear one but most of the veterans I see wore similar hats. Thank you to all the veterans!

Can I order less rants and more moodle?

I am very grumpy today. I woke up early to prepare myself for school. I was not able to attend my Political Science class last week because I was still adjusting to my work's schedule. I had to go this week or I will have a poor attendance score for my class. Few days ago, my boyfriend told me that he was able to pick me up for school. My boyfriend and his sister share cars, but since she's on vacation, he was able to drive the car. I agreed since I love saving gas. Last night was the WOW midnight release at Gamestop. He works there and volunteer to work until 2 last night. In result, he was very late to pick me up for school. I did not attend my class. I know this is a very simple thing, but I am mad at him. Thanks for hearing my rant. HAHA!

So anyways, I did my Moodle assignment early. I am at the Computer Lab with nothing to do, so I am making use of my free time. We learned about definition and how to define them. When you read the chapter, you would learn about simple and extended definition. The book will teach you different way on how to define them.

Since we don't have class today, I'll see everyone on Tuesday. Don't forget about our test! For those are going tomorrow and Saturday, I will see you there!

I will now comment you :)

Scared.

It's nine in the morning right now. I am freaking out because I'm having one of those days when you forget to do something and it's catching up to you. I forgot that I had an exam for Anthropology. Then just a second ago, I thought that our English Test was going to be today and I didn't have time to study, so I'm scared.

Veteran's Day

Hello everyone, I hope that on Veteran's day you all remembered those who fought for our freedom. I know that I prayed for all the fallen soldiers and those who are suffering from the war. Those who survived are troubled by what they have seen during any or all wars. I will see everyone on moodle. Have a great weekend!

After that I ended up doing some early christmas shopping during the Veteran's Day Sale. It was such a hot day. The day went by fast though, I wished it lasted a little bit longer. I needed the break.

Swollen

Today is Monday and my feet is a bit swollen; I can't walk so well. But I have to go to class today because I have to do a presentation. It really sucks that my feet is like this but later on when the healing process is done my feet will look and feel better. Lucky tomorrow there is no class that way I can relax my feet. Well see you all later..

Im late

Well I know I did not blog for last week. I was so occupied and many things to attend to; blogging slipped my mind. Well tomorrow is Veteran's Day and we have no classes. I know our test was suppose to be tomorrow but we will now take it on the 18th. So be prepared people. Have a good day.

Obama wins and I'm late to BLOG. What's new?

Moodle session Thursday was enlightening. It discussed compare and contrast situations, and the definition of such. Similarities and differences towards subjects and that furthermost explain the topic. I enjoyed it very much because I like writing compare and contrast essays for that it broadens perspectives of my understanding of a subject.

Two for the price of a lesser grade

Last last class, we received our last test and I wasn't surprise with the grade I received. I was overcome by the low grade but I hope to make it up in the upcoming extra credit. So, as I recalled, last last class we discussed Chapter 12, which involved classifications. Classification involved, persons, places, things, or ideas into groups or classes based on their characteristics. It was an interesting class period due to an exercise about categories dealt in a garage sale.

The Lateness

Hello everyone. So sorry that this blog is late, I have just been getting back into the swing of things as I recovered. Well with my sickness at bay, I managed to do the moodle session. I feel lost at the moment. Even just missing one day of class, really through me off. As I did the moodle session, I did comprehend what it was describing about compare and contrast. To find the similarities means to compare a subject to another. To find the differences, you contrast with the subject. Contrast really makes me think of my art class back in my junior year of high school.
Like primary and secondary colors, or using different mediums. Like I saw the differences between using charcoal and oil pastels. The feeling, most especially the effects were very different. Such as charcoal was soft on paper, and oil pastels were much more heavier, like crayons. I miss those days. Well, compare and contrast help us see the similarties and differerences of our subject. With Thung Tran using compare and contrast in the writing process worksheet, proved to be very beneficial. I will for use it to help with my essays. I hope all of you have a good weekend. If anyone can help fill me in on what happened on Tuesday, with notes or any summaries of events, it would really help. Please email or I will be in the library on Thursday. Thank you!

~Christina

Compare and Contrast

Compare and contrast is the method used to show similarity and differences between subjects. Like Thung, she used this method to compare and contrast woman in America and Vietnamese being a wife and/or mother. She made a clear point of her subjects. Growing up in America, made it easy for her to compare it to her own culture.

Can you believe it?

Can you believe it? People thought that white supremacy was going to prevail in this 2008 Presidential Election, but in the end it was the minority who won. I know there is still the KKK and other groups somewhere out there and that Barack Obama's life is in great danger because of it, but can you believe that after 143 years after the battle over slavery and 40 years after the Civil Rights Movement, a black man is elected President of the United States. I sure can't because those event were not to long ago if you actually think about it. But I believe the people voted for him because they believe in him, like how people believed in Dr. Martin Luther King and Mahatma Ghandi. Which I find incredible because I saw how many supporters Obama had and the numbers just blew me away. This election just proved to me that majority of the people today don't care about what race you are or what your background is, but care about what you can do for them. I am really glad I live in this time in history. There are so many things going on, its absolutely amazing.

I knew I deserved it.

If you have been reading some of my blogs in the past you would know I have not been putting my best effort in achieving all that I possibly can. And since I've got so much to worry about, I haven't studied for a single test lately for this class. So I feel I deserved the grade I received on the test that was given back to us on Tuesday.

Honestly, I feel kind of lost in the class at times especially with the tests because we don't cover some of the chapters in class but in the moodle session so I get confused sometimes. So since I haven't been studying the chapters we cover in the moodle room I well review them from now on so I can bring my grade back up to what it should be.

40 Page Short Story

For the past 2 years I've been reading and following the Twilight Saga
by Stephanie Meyer. I think her writing and the details that she could
come up with is genius. At the same time she adds humor that we,
readers can relate to.
I'm so inspired by her writing that I feel that I want to write the 40
page short story instead of the Final Exam. In high school,
I made an attempt in writing plays and short stories.
This won't be easy but it's a challenge that I feel I can do.
Being in college, I feel like I need to step up.

Thursday...

Well I knew on Thursday we had to moodle so I went online and did. You guys already know that we just had to discuss what's comparison and contrast is and give examples. Also, we had to discuss about someone's (I forgot her name) Writing Process Worksheet. They were both easy moodles and I hope you guys didn't have too much trouble.
Well after moodling, basically my day ended. I just went home, waited for dinner, ate, and went to bed. Now its Friday and I'm in school blogging with my friend's laptop. Ok well, I'm going to end it now and I'll see you guys Thursday since we have no school Tuesday right?

Couldn't Make It...

Hey guys, bet your wondering why I didn't make it to class Thuesday. Well the answer to that, is because I wasn't feeling to good. I had a headache and I felt so tired. Also, my body was aching so I called my mom to pick me up early. I took some pain relivers, went to bed, and now I felt a little better. I still have a body ache until now, but its not that bad.

Blogged at 5:32 in the morning.

Hello everyone! I am not too sure if I mention this in my previous blogs, but I have a new job. I work as Front Desk in Royal Orchid. I work during the grave-yard hours. I am currently learning how to adjust to my new sleeping schedule. I worked all of this work. I was not able to do my homeworks for my classes because I was busy going to work, sleeping, and going to school. I know that is no excuse, so I will accept my late reductions in my Moodle.

On Moodle, we learned about contrasting and comparison.

Comparison: Snickers and Crunch are chocolate products.
Contrasting: Antarctica is a cold climate, while Asia is more of a Tropical zone.

No School on Tuesday. Professor Rivera email that we're not going to be in class and we will be taking the test on the following class.

Don't forget to start working on your paper, if you choose that option! :D
Dr. Rivera and classmates,
I have a big question that needs to be answered. On our calendar our 4th test is this Tuesday but we do not have any school so I am looking for clarification. Will the test be given on Thursday instead or do you have another plan?

Thank You!
Rhea Francisco

Moodle time..

I just finished moodling and discussing Chapter 13:Compare and Contrast.
It refreshed my memory of once doing a compare and contrast essay for a class. It was not that easy, due to the fact that I had to determine the main purpose to either inform or persuade.
So I'm glad we're not doing any kind of essay of some sort within each chapter. But hey maybe Dr.Rivera can add that for next semester.

Election day is over and I'm happy that Prop A did not pass and that Obama made history as being the first african american to become president.

Hope everyone had a good day today.
See you all on Tuesday!

The Moodle Session

Today is the moodle session. I finally get to use my new laptop. The moodle topic is about compare and contrast. This mainly talks about the similarities and differences in things. I feel that when compare and contrast two different things you might find similarities in them. For the moodle we had to talk about these things. We also had to give examples. Comparing and contrasting is good when showing relationships and sequence. The moodle session was quite easy. I felt I really understood the material.

The class

OnTuesday we basically did classification. We talked and discussed how to establish groups. The example used was a yard sale. We divided the things at a yard sale into groups. We also discussed the test we took. I did awful. I didn't really study well enough to get a good grade. I'm disappointed at myself. Hopefully I do better on the next test. After we discussed the test we did some exercises in the book about establishing groups. It was quite easy because I could do it in my head. The next test is November 16 and I feel thats enough time to get the material down for the test.

What do you choose?

What do you choose for your final exam? I am glad we have a choice. I just hope that we all do better than our grades that we all have been getting on ours tests.

When doing the tests, just do what you can work well with, do what is comfortable enough for you, most of all, don't think too much it will make your bring jump and jump to another subject (well, my experience).

Good Luck!

Maria

Comparision and Contrast

Today on moodle we discussed what is comparision and contrast. Comparision organizes and develops similarities; whereas contrast is the same however contrast deals with differences. The second half of the assignment deals with a worksheet. In my opinion I think that the worksheet should of be thought out with more details.

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will see everyone on Tuesday.

D+

That is the grade I recieved.

I'm not proud of it. It's almost the end of the semester and I'm falling apart. Even with A's in my recent test, I'd still be averaging a B. I need to focus and stop slacking off.

The test was kind of difficult and confusing at the same time. I wonder who got an A.

Missed Class

Hello everyone. I missed class on Tuesday. I did not even get chance to vote. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have been feeling nauseated for about a week now. I am pregnant and I really do not know why doctors call this feeling morning sickness. The illness occurs anytime of the day and most of the time all day long. Well I will see everyone next Tuesday.

Well we got our tests back last class and I did not do as great as I expected but I still passed. As for everyone else I hope you guys did a good job. I would like to thank Dr. Rivera for letting us out early to vote but I voted prior to our class so I was able to use the extra time to visit my work. Not all the people I voted for made it but Prop A did not which was good for some people but not for others. Personally, I'll keep that to myself. But if you look at the senators a couple of the old ones were kicked out. Now we know or new president and as for that I can only wait and see what to expect.

The Campus Was Packed Yesterday!

Hey guys how's everyone day coming along so far? Well, as for mine its coming along pretty well. You know yesterday the campus was like super packed because of all the voting goin on and I almost came late to school yesterday because of all those supporters out the front of the gate. But anyways the weekend is coming up and I think we have tuesday off, so yeah. Well I have to go now see you guys tomorrow on the moodle.

going through today's class.

Well I didn't take test #3 and the rest of the class got to receive theirs and review it today. I had to step out for a few minutes, and I felt kind of lonely sitting outside. But I knew Dr.Rivera didn't want me to have it easy when I take the test. How did everyone do by the way? I hope good.

We also went over upcoming events in our class which would sum up the rest of this semester and I'm surprise to say it went by so fast. It's almost over guys! I'm going to miss taking this class due to the fact that it's so different from my other courses.

Today's also Election Day, did anyone vote? I hope so because I did and I believe every vote counts. So I hope you guys didn't vote to pass Prop A!

Have a good night and see you all during our moodle discussion.

President?

www.barackobama.com

It is Election Day in the United States. I am very excited for the results. I am a supporter of Barack Obama and his idea. Don't worry, I won't discuss why you should vote for him. I believe that unless, I am an active supporter, I will respect everyone opinions. Today, I did not vote in the Guam's Election. I was very busy with school and getting ready for my new job. I am so happy! Tonight is going to be my first night. I will be working at 12am. I am going to be so tired. It's ok! I love stress.

Today in class, we got our test back. I didn't do so well. I know it's my fault because I should studied more of the key terms. Better luck next time. I am relieved that we have extra credit. I will be able to pick up my grades.

I'll see you on Moodle!

election.

Sorry for not coming in today. I had to take my mom to the doctor to get her surgery. She had to get it because she has this thing call the sis on her finger. So, she got surgery for it. Hope that everyone had fun in class. Did everyone vote already? If so, did you vote yes on "Prop A"? Well got to go. I need to watch my mom now...

Missing in Action

Hi everyone. Sorry I couldn't be in class today. I am sick at the moment, sore throats are the worst. I went to the doctor today, and it just so happens I am really contagious. I didn't want to miss today because, it was quote presentations, as well as just coming. EN-100 is one of my favorite classes. Well, being at home, all I can do is do what the doctor ordered. It's funny because I have not been considered highly contagious since I had the chicken pox in fourth grade. To all the quote presenter's today, sorry I could not be there, really I do love quotes, it gives me inspiration. I almost forgot, its election day, unforunately I was not able to register, so my vote does not really count. I hope it goes well for all of you who did register, your vote is very important. Please make the right decision, but make it yours. Thanks for reading this blog. My best goes out to all of you, making it to class today, I will see you all next Week.
~Christina

I'll see you all in class today. I look forward to the rest of the semester and next semester.

I feel so nervous, I feel tired, sick to the stomach, excited. Overall, I am just going to concentrate on studying. We have 3 more weeks til' the exam, and I am going to study all that I can.

Good Luck!

Cause and Effect

Happy Belated Halloween! What did I do for the Candy Holiday? I treated the day as any other regular day. My bank account is on freeze right now, so I didn't have the money to go costume shopping. Instead, I went to Very Berry with my friend and ate the "Black and White" Waffle. It had waffles, yogurts, and fruits. I will give the over-all dessert, 3/5. The price was too expensive!

On Moodle, we learned about cause and effect. To be honest, I am confused. I am not saying that the lesson was hard but I feel like I am going around circle. It feels like a math problem. I have a hard time defining what was "before" and "after". Although this is not an excuse, I will work harder with this chapter.

Well I'll see everyone on Tuesday! :)

Max Payne

Belated Happy Halloween!
This year is not that fun. I picked up my sister after school (JFK double-session.) The traffic was so terrible. My dad decided to watch a movie on a very busy day. We watched Max Payne.

See you next class!
