I think its great that Dr. Rivera puts quotes on the test as extra credit. I like to give my opinion on them and its an easy way to get your test grade up even by a little.
I loved the quote that was on the test this week, it was a quote that was presented on the last test day. It was a quote from Abigail Adams, about how learning is not achieved by chance but you have to work for it. I think it is very true. Learning is something not everyone is willing to do and something most take for granted. Which I find rather sad because learning brings opportunity and can also make a difference. History tells us that there are many people who were oppressed for being different and punished for their want to learn. For example the African slaves that where brought to America were an oppressed group of people, some of them wished to learn to read and write and they kept pursuing that dream and few were able to achieve it despite the harsh punishment from their masters who forbid them to even learn the skills. So as a society that thinks learning is somewhat of a burden, we should think to ourselves and wonder what its like to be in third world societies shoes, it wouldn't be pretty. I love to learn and it is sad to know others don't.

I, as well, enjoy giving my opinion towards the quote. This quote especially gave me a boost during the test for that it showed that if I didn't study, I wouldn't have a higher grade. The same applies to learning and not being accredited towards mental capacity of intelligence!
