Last one for the week!

Did anyone watch the movie "Just my luck"? The star of the movie was Lindsay Lohan. In the beginning, her character was very luck until she loses her luck. How is this related to my "story of the day?" I had been getting bad luck for the past couple of months. Today was my cherry to the icecream. The day was going fine, until I decided to do my errands. I went to DMV to report my card accident. I went there the previous day, but I had to return home because I need my mother's signature. When I got there, I was told that I needed to make copies of my police's report. The cost to get your papers copied? You have to pay a dollar for each piece! I was in shock, and frustrated. I dropped my boyfriend back to school and went to Gamenet to make copies. Afterwards, I went to DMV and drop my paper-work. When I got into my car, the strap of my dress broke. As much as I have my differences with Moodle (later on in the blog), I was glad that I had time to go home to change clothes. I drove to Yigo and came back to Mangilao. I met up with my friend in the IP Cafe. I was late for our meeting. I was a flaming siopao. I saw one of our classmates in the parking. I am terribly sorry if I came off as a snob, you know who you are. When I got a drink, I went to my World History class. When I was sitting down, I decided to throw away my drinks incase it spills. As I picked it up, the drink fell to the floor. Imagine the expression that was drawn into my face. People stared at the back row, looking for the culprit of the Mocha/Caramel smell. To cheer me up, my boyfriend took me to watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua. During the movie, the fire alarm went on. The lights were flashing, and "Please exit the building" was being echoed throughout the theatre. Everyone was sitting down while I panicked and proceed to go outside. When I returned inside, the movie had suddenly stopped. Soon after, everyone left their seats. Was this an actual fire? If we were in a reality show, the whole world would be laughing. We looked so confused. Thank God that it was not an actual fire. Once the manager explained to us, we continued our movies. Just as I dropped my boyfriend home, I realize that I only had 45 minutes to complete my moodle's assignment.

Thank you for reading about my day! HERE IS THE REAL STORY! :)

Today's assignment is to read about Shastri. She wrote an essay about her situation with her family. She was in the United States but kept her Indian Culture. Her family arranged a marriage for her. Although it may come off as injustice now, decades ago, this was an honorable act. In England, a family can make their status higher through their daughter. For example, the story of Anne Boleyn and King Henry. She was to seduce the King of England, for a higher stand in the society. Her uncle assured her, that if this was to be successful, Anne could possibly marry a duke. This would be a very great honor for the family. Although later in History, Anne became Queen of England. This act of arranged marriage is also found in the Philippines. What Shastri is going through is similar to what my grand-mother(s) had gone through. They were to learn how to main a house-hold, and be arranged to marry someone. As a matter of fact, my mother was a part of this tradition. She is no longer with the same husband, but I had learn this is a difficult experience.

Although it is tradition, times has changed. I believe that Shastri has her right to choose who to marry. She lives in the United States, the land of the free.

The essay to my opinion was very short. I wish Shastri could had written more about her situation. Her description of her mother was very interesting. The first time that you read it, you will think that her mother was disappointed in her daughter. Although when I read it for the second time, it seems that she is griefing with her daughter. It could be possible that Shastri's mother does not want her to go through the same experience.

The writer did a great job in being descriptive, and writing in her point of view. Her readers were able to imagine the situation, and connect with the essay. This is a essay that we could learn from
.

Sorry for the long blog. Happy Weekend!

Wow.

That is an intense day.
I can't believe you'd make it through the day. I would have went home and just cried out my frustration.
