A book is like a garden...

" A book is like a garden carried in the pocket."
-Joseph Addison
(English poet and essayist)

Honestly, I love this quote and completely agree with it. When I picked it out of the bag and read it, a million thoughts ran through my head. In my opinion, books are absolutely beautiful just like gardens. They both can hold a variety of different things and can tell a unique story, depending on a person's perspective. When I wander around a garden I feel like I am in another place. It is the same feeling I get when I read a book.

Anyways, the quote is basically saying a book is just a pocket sized garden you can take anywhere; full of boundless beauty and untold stories lying in wait for a curious wanderer to stumble upon it.

True. I feel the same way when I get into a new book, and it just captivates me. Very good interpretation.

This was a beautiful quote, except books for me can sometimes be dragging. Good to hear that you like reading!
