The beginning of class a quote was on the headboard, which was “There is no substitute for hard work.” Nicole, a fellow classmate, discussed this topic by interpreting it in her own perspective, in which I could relate though I believe there could be more insight but her opinion was right on target. There were other further quotes that were discussed were relating to freedom to fail (make mistakes to learn) and self-expectation.
Student demonstration of all stages of the writing process included a writing process worksheet. This involved brainstorming, annotating, questions (Five W’s), and clustering among other writing procedures or some call stages. Also, organization is very important by means of outlining, keeping the main objectives on your essay like topics and supports. There are acronyms such as CLUESS and COPS that are very important towards your paper. Hence, Dr. Rivera mentioned us to know the abbreviated words and the meanings towards them for an upcoming test (Chapter 1-4). Study hard and indulge in a learning experience with yourself and the book.
